^^ new one. a product of 12 whole weeks of walling experience XD hmm thats about 3 months ^_^'
eh, im not that experienced then...
well original idea here is its just after midnight during summer cause the sky lightens at the edge of the horizon but the suns still far off. i decided no moon for this one so i made the stars really stand out more. some sort of resemblance to milky way >.>
grass has many layers to get a fog receding effect. water is very calm, didnt want to make huge waves.
the typography bit is the weirdest thing ive done cause theres no moon in the wall but theres a moon in the title lol.

hope ya like ^^

EDIT: spelled eternity wrong o_0 thanks to aria and veronika for pointing it out ^_^'
EDIT: dimmed the stars near the horizon. thanks to shinn and rsk ^^

really simple, but quite poetic... is it me or i see a bird shaped in stars in your sky? ok, maybe i got a vivid imagination XD but it sure looks like a bird... anyways, it looks cool, good job!!

  2. DarkEVO May 18, 2005

Beautifully done wallpaper. The background is especially nice and I think it's the best wall yet. You got my fav.

  3. anji May 18, 2005

I think everything as been said ^_^'
Just want to add that I really like the atmosphere of it.
And I agree with ShiNN about the grass, maybe you should add one or two layer of it.
And I think it's great without the moon. ;)
    Add it to my fav!

    the wall's calm and pretty~~
the girl's so cute too!! its great ^^

The background sky and water is truly excellent. But it looks like there are only three rows of grass. I think you should add more layers with a more gradual change in colour. I like how the grass gets mistier towards the back. That's a nice effect.
The scan is a bit grainy on her skirt but cute and she fits in quite well.
    Nice work. Keep it up!

Kai. My friend you are surely making amazing wallpapers.
That star effect in the background is really amazing. Come on man teach me how to do that! -lol-
And as i've said in many of your other walls. Your scans are really beautiful. I especially love this one. ^_^
The grass and the effect you put on the ocean behind her are very nice. But in 'your' case I think you have done better jobs on your water. (although it's very nice)
Well then. I definitely have to fav. this. See you around friend!

Very nice. I love the sky; it's absolutely beautiful. The stars simply shine. The grass and fireflies are also nice. The scan really stands out against the background. Outstanding work.

  8. Athrun May 19, 2005

Holy crap, that's nice. LOVE the sky and colors! I always wanted to that but I can't find a good tutorial on it... - -; But anyways, nice work.

This is a very nice wallpaper. However, as others noted, the stars are much too cluttered, and there seems to be one level of brightness for the stars. If I'm not mistaken, if you duplicate the star layer and lower the brightness and increase the contrast, you might be able to get a few brighter stars in there. The scan is somewhat grainy, and you can alleviate that by duplicating the scan layer and changing the blending mode of the duplicated layer to Soft Light or Overlay. Then, you can use a Smart Blur at a radius of 9.0 and a threshold of 25.0 at medium or high quality so the scan would appear cleaner. I also think that you could use more grass layers and maybe have one grass layer in front of the scan. Keep up the good work.

I really love this kind of tone and mood...gentle and dark yet with a sort of "dreamy" effect. Just like this wallie you made! :D
The constellation of stars is incredible! I think it's good the way you've made them into clusters, and also how it doesn't look out of place. In here, it's quite perfect for this scene.
The grass is of a nice color..are those fireflies? They are great!
A beautiful wall, Kai-san. ^_^ *adds to favies*

not bad wallpaper, but the composition, even if it does look good, is quite un-original.
the starfield could use some more work, the places where you erased stars is too evident to the eye.
the fontage is really nice, nothing to change in my opinion, and great job on the grass. I havn't seen such good PS grass in a long time. Maybe the last layer is a little bit too different from the other, I'd fade the fog a bit more. I'm not sure if I like the fireflies a lot, they stand out way too much.
The water isn't great really. those horizontal lines are too crisp and small, and the surface looks awfully flat ad untextured, it needs more perspective. The scan could use a little more work too, I can see a grain film and a need for color blending.

  24. WindAlchemist May 22, 2005

wow thats beautiful! i love the background and the character fits nicely in the picture.
    wonderful job keep it up!
