Thr background looks simple, but it is very nice. However, I do see some extraction problems even through the usage of the outer glow. If you used the Magic Wand tool, it isn't recommended. I know it's your first wall, and you have more to come. Keep up the good work otherwise.

First? This is great! I wouldn't believe this is a first wall but since you said so then it must be. The wall looks wonderfull overall. The background is fit quite well. I really like the font you used. But the scan need a little more work.
