XD reminds me of my floor. Its just a huge checkerd board ^_^ I really like the effects you places over the tiles, and the scan you used is perfect,. Really sets the mood!~ Excellent wall Brom!

well....it's kinda dark...looks like a chessboard...with blood stains on it...
but...the dark atmosphere is the thing that I really like about this one.

Nice grunge and great use of dark tones. The pic is matched well with the BG and it looks very artistic.
    Nice Work.

Ooooh, nice work! Very moody, gritty, dteriorated and even gothic (in the old fashioned sense) And the checker board works so well! :D

  7. MadWiz Apr 28, 2005

the background is.. why checkered!! XD
the scan used looks really good together with the texture
I like the texture on the checkered back but some parts look.. not suiting
the title I don't like it though =p the way its "coloured".. I probaby like it blended and contrasted with the back.. if you get what I mean o.O

anyway thats all hehe so have fun

'sabout time you submitted another wallie, brom-kun. I've been waiting! :nya:

::Makhan runs around for a while chanting "I inspired Brom-kun, I inspired Brom-kun...":: XD

Well... it's not one of my favorite Murata scans, but I have to say that you did a good job with it. Like I said on one of your ealier walls, I'm getting a little overwhelmed with all the grunge I keep seeing on Minitokyo, but yours continues to be original, so... ::yukari-sensei-style-thumbs-up!::

    >_>

    <_<

Er, anyway... I guess that's really all I have to say on the subject.

I have to say that I agree with my sister on one count. It's about time you made a new desktop design, bromit-bozu. Hmm... As far as the design itself goes: I dunno. The scan is nice, though it's not at an optimal size. It should either be bigger in relation to the wall, and just focus on specific features of the face, or else it should be smaller, and allow you to see some of the torso (if there was any torso in the original scan, I dunno). I'm not a fan of the goth look that's emphasized here, though, but the contrast of colors is nice.

    The checkerboard... is nice, but too regular for my tastes. The marbling and lighting effects are very well done, but it's just not doing it for me. Probably just personal taste. I also don't like the font used at all, it just seems to clash with the feeling of the piece. And you misspelled the guy's name... >>;

Cool, never seen a checkered wallie before, Kudos brom! :D The BG shows sum nice textures from the crumpled up granite and the gritty designs looks fantastic! Also, the character reallie blends well with the checkered BG and her style is kickass! Overall, you're getting real good at creating grunge masterpieces, Brom! XD

Wicked bg Broma :D . Looks very cool, the colours and lighting are vivid and good, and I like the scan you chose, kinda creepy with that stare and the fact that it's hard to tell if it's a a goth chick or goth dude (like Testament from Guilty Gear-heheXP). Awesome work though :D

  13. Devilet Apr 30, 2005

    Owww... so very cool brom!
I agree with Saki though, the font seems out place, but the blending is right on the mark.
I'm not liking the scan too much, dark lipstick isn't my favourite, even though I like goth XD go figure..

interesting.. a grunge style, artistic, interesting looking wallpaper =P. It's sertainly not kiddo stuff, but a serious wallpaper. That's what i think. Which is good for a change to see wallpapers like these here on MT. Nice job ^^.

  15. mughi May 01, 2005

Whoa, this wall sure does look different from more typical fun to watch variety. It is more serious art style. The kind that you learn to appreciate instead of instant gratification. Nice job and thanks. :)

  16. Skillzpay May 02, 2005

I like the concept, pretty unique, really stands out, and has a refreshing overall look to it since it's not your typical grunge wall. I think it suits the scan really well since he's got the whole monotone color scheme going. Would've been nice if the text stood out more but that's no biggie. Good stuff bromi

I'm not a huge fan of checker patterns unless they are used sparingly. The color of black and white is so strong and when you pair it up with the pattern created by the squares, you get a strong element. If anything, I think the texture used on the checker pattern is awsome!! It's not too much but enough to almost seem tangible. I think this wall could be a little stronger...maybe not stronger but more powerful if you added an element of pure color. Although there is some color, most of the wall is black and white. Some kind of color could really make a statement.
