well, This was a project for my 2-d Art class, basically we had to make an abstract using some sort of colour key... I chose a split complimentary [B-V,Y-G and R-V] umm,, basically I did it while in a depressive mood, and I think it may have reflected onto the canvas, because I had the only non vibrant geometric style art in the class [shrugs]...

Done on a 16X20 canvas, acrylics. Acrylics and I never get along, so this is my first actual painting with them. I enjoy watercolours more, but you try watercolours on a fabric canvas >_> [shudders]

Thought I'd give u a tip for next time abstract depressive moods. Do somthing like German expressionism. U got all the colours u need but u just gota make it more striking or vibrant.

But To me what u got there is.....tap tap tap forgot the name!!!!! wait cubism.
I see a wind blowing sky in background chinese mountains. This can be seen by the way u've used ur whites in the green giving a very misty feel to it. The lines show a harsh winds and..... nevermind I'm rambling on now

great choice of color for the theme.
The color gives more than enough reference to the subject in my opinion.
Not sure about the shapes of the abstarction.
I wouldn't called it cubism, since i don't see simul;atneous view point, and the form of it.

But i really like the color u picked, really moody and expressive.
and also the expressive brushstrokes ^_^.

    Great work .awesome ^_^

Hey this is really cool. I really like the shades and tints. Very well done. The swirls here and there are a nice touch. I love all the colors you used. It really does set the mood. Lovely work Bel!

I always wanted to do watercolors but I don't have the talent for it. You're so lucky, Bel. ^_^ You could sort of see the darkness sort of creepy in to cover the light in the bg. But there is a slight hope since the darkness hasn't taken over the light colors. Also, it's depressing but overly since the darkness isn't totally black but a lighter shade of it which means that you're not that totally depressed. Okay, sorry to bore you. ^_^' Wonderful artwork!

No matter how hard I try, I could never understand or interpret abstract artwork ^^;; (<-- feels like an idiot)

The painting is nice and it's quite evident you put a lot of work and emotion into it. (Btw, I hope you're not feeling depressed anymore) I like how you managed to use so many colours but at the same time maintain the gray, gloomy mood. The swirls are nice, when I look at it, states of confusion and pondering come to mind. Back to the colourfullness, the light shades of green and yellow appear to be the 'silver lining behind the cloud'. And, I'm going to stop with my interpretations now since they're probably nonsense ^^;; Anyway, a great piece of abstract work, hope you get a good grade on it ^.~
