I'm actually kinda pleased with how this wallpaper turned out, but it took way
too much time to complete. 
I found the original scan on APA. [LINK][LINK]
I believe it was originally a promotional ad for the second Girlfriend Of Steel
game.

I was inspired to make something out of the scan because Asuka seemed so
helpless. I was oroginally going to keep the white silhouette there, but tried
applying effects and realized that the brightness would overwhelm the rest of
the wallpaper. So I found an image of Unit-01 and vectored it's silhouette. It
was also originally in white, but then I scrapped the idea and decided that a
black shadow was creepier.
I had to re-CG Asuka, because she was very grainy. That's the step that took
the most time.

So different from the usual Evangelion wall,the re-cg of Asuka is amazing,also the effects on the bakground,about the unit01 shadow,im not too sure about it [somethings bother me,i cant say what] xD,but i like it,is different from other NGE walls,now i have to wait for the textless version.

This looks awesome. It's like Asuka first time seeing an EVA and really understands the enormity of the situation. I like how you placed Asuka with the EVA. Also, it's cool how you placed it all in shadow. I like the feel of the wallie and the colors. Really amazing work!

You're right, the thumbnail does look like ass. :} But the wallpaper certainly doesnt. Interesting swirls define the clouds in the sky and the looming shadow is well done. Good work.

Holy crap, zephy! o_o;; I never seen a high-quality Asuka wall like this before, it feels so red like her niche color! I also like the sunset over the eva and how you CGed Asuka so damn well! Grade A walling in my book!

Shadows on skirt and legs bad really bad (this is reality?)... It kick my straight to my eyes... bg is cool. I don't understand why... it's that close to perfection bud that shadows... It really hurts...
