I downloaded Pov-Ray, a ray-tracing program which can create 3d graphics, some
time ago, but never got around to trying its paces. I discovered recently that
phong.com, a site I used to go to for Photoshop tutorials (the techniques from
the stone texture and eplastic tutorials are ones I regularly employ) and found
there were some old Pov-ray tutorials as well. I sat down and played around with
the settings and created this. I like spheres and toruses (torii?) so I made
lots and lots of torii. Maybe it's an atom, maybe it's a planet with rings,
maybe someone was throwing away their old hula hoops. It's concentric and
eccentric and lots of fun.
I did do some minor color adjustments in Photoshop and added the text.

It's pretty good ^__^ There's one problem I have with it though, and that's the water. The ripple's seem...flat. Look at the reflection of the sphere and toruses, there appeard to be no distrotion in the reflection, and it kinda ruins the feel of the piece. But overall, it looks beautiful, I like the softglow you gave to it, it makes it even better.
