I finally bring myself to submit here 
I really like Totoro, it's one of my favorite Studio Ghibli movie. So I took
this scan
and vector it. Actually, I didn't want to trace the sprouts, but it turned out
kind of weird to see the characters jumping and cheering on nothing. So I
reluctantly did it. The grasses are brushed. The clouds and moon are brushed and
then smudged. The black thing in the background is suppose to be a hill (which
is also brushed & smudged)...
The overall color scheme didn't turned out quite like what I expected. I was
hoping the colors could look more vibrant -___- I tried tweaking the hue and
adding color layers, but it still doesn't work. Whatever...

This is the slightly improved(?) version from the one I submit in AP. It still have some blurriness issue. I know, sorry... I'll try not to abuse smudge next time.

Holy crap, that's awesome! The coloring, the backgrounds... everything. Goddamn it, why didn't I have a widescreen monitor?
Really awesome. That's the best brush grass I've seen so far and actually I like your "abuse" of the smudge tool, because the vector and background complement each other that way. Everything fits together so well and the clouds you added are great because they match the crazy feeling I get from their pose.
