Wow, looks great yoshimitsu! (Much better than the other one... ) Love all of the different types of shading that you did, as well as the monochrome. However, with all of the details the character does seem to blend in. I think if you made the background behind the character (by the dotted leaves) solid, it would really make the character stand out more. But overall, an impressive work of art. Keep it up! (And congrats on becoming an animation student!)

Anyways, you should have made the girl look in front, since the rest of the work is focused on a frontal camera view. Other than that, go find a studio and work there. I guarantee that you'll sharpen thy skills even better in a studio. ^o^

I love it. I think that it's great how the seems to be a part of the scenery. The focal point isn't the girl; you're supposed to look at the entire picture. Well, that at least how I see it. The only problem I have with it is the color... ughh, I hate orange... *blech!*
