until i actually get the time to make something new, i think i'll continue to upload selected pieces from my old work folder over the next month(s) or so. =] as long as you people don't mind my old stuff...
this was a quick, simple, modest piece i did over the summer. i vectored lacus from a magazine spread scan (credit: the ever wonderful Anime Project Alliance) and added an extra shading layer to her hair, skin, dress, and cape, as well as gradients to focus the lighting more on her hands. i created the rainbow-light-halo-thingy-effect from scratch. it didn't turn out perfect: some colors, notably green, don't show in a lot of places and the colors might not be saturated enough for some people's tastes. but i think it's decent at least. and the glitter, done with an ordinary round brush, is probably mediocre. maybe more glowy stuff would have helped. x__x
a couple of layers for the bg, a few more for the glitter, and a couple more for the glowy ball thing...then 30+ layers for the halo effect .__. and since i use subpaths when i vector, the lacus vector comes up to about 40 layers. don't quite recall the specifics of how long this took, but since it was during my weekly walls spurt in the summer, it should have taken me several hours over two to three days at the most.

It was so powerful I thought. This wallpaper had dramatic contrast here and The Radiance of Hope really captues the scenery well. Well done I'd say asa00.

Ah, the original Lacus Clyne (before they watered-down her character in the sequel). She could always make me go into "SEED-Mode", if you know what I mean. Nevermind if you don't...
This is a beautiful wallpaper and I look forward to using it when I get my new widescreen monitor. I remember the scan being in two halves so you probably had to redraw some of it. And you vectored the colors extremely well. Especially her hair where you can see all the subtle levels of shading with the glow. Finally you put a lot of detail into the eyes.
Your watermark is a bit obvious at the bottom though. Hopefully the taskbar will conceal it. Anyway, it's a very lovely wall and a pretty decent vector too. Adding it to favs! Thanks for sharing it here. Until the next time, take care!
