I'm in an experimental mood lately, so while this wall fails as actually being a utilitarian wallpaper I had a lot of fun making it. The idea came about when I was reading the Hachikuro manga (which I recently acquired) and kept seeing Yamada beat the crap out of everyone, complete with HP bars and combo moves. I decided to expand that into a 2d fighting game a la Street Fighter 2. I chose Morita as Yamada's opponent because when I saw the image of him trying to sneak up and give someone a haircut, it was the perfect jumping attack move. Morita's attack name comes from the fact that the "Shinobu" of his first name is the same "nin" as in "Ninja" (which he gleefully explains as he sneaks out in one scene. Yamada's attack name comes from the fact that everyone compares her to a white swan when she's throwing pots.
Characters traced from various pages of the manga; background ferris wheel traced from another H&C scan.
To get that Street Fighter 2 look, I reduced the colors to 256 and deliberately pixelated the image.
"Pottery no Tatsujin" is a play on the game "Taiko no Tatsujin" (a music simulator game where you beat the living daylights out of taiko drums) and Yamada's nickname, "Pottery no Tatsujin".

It was only when I scrolled down then I've noticed. :) I dunno how you say it in English, but it's has a "makulit" theme.. a childish, fun and comedic theme.. >.< This is a fav from me!

You, my dear, are MADE OF WIN. It is fantastically crafted and an amazing idea to begin with. <3

At first, I really wasn't sure if I should even look at this one, but I am so glad I did. It's hilarious. Your description made the whole thing make sense, since I have no experience with this manga, and that just made it all the more awesome. Thanks for that. And for this wallpaper. It made me smile, and that's always worthwhile.
