Well, basically, the story goes like this: I had the render with Raito and the shinigami guys in the background, but I didn't quite know what to do with it. So I started from scratch and experimented with different combinations between the fractals I'd rendered in Apophysis throughout time. It still looked plain, so I added in some clouds, messed around some more with the blending effects and got something relatively decent. It was still kinda empty however, so I brushed in some text [which I later figured would be a nice representation for human laws and such, and given the composition of the wallpaper, it shows that Kira is above them XD]. Then I added some finishing touches in Paint Shop Pro and that was that X-P

Tech. specs: Adobe Photoshop CS2 & Paint Shop Pro 7 / 17 layers / roughly around 4 hours [extraction included].

WOW! pretty! XD
I love that bg! (btwm that text in the BG makes me think about "The Matrix" :D XD ) It looks great!
and I love the render u used! I guess the extraction wasn't the easiest thing to do with all those details around the borders of the render... :)
U did a great job!

Hi. :D The colours are so great, I think it matches perfectly to this scan ;)

pretty cool! Te background looks awesome and the text is a great idea. I think maybe you could have done something more with the scan since it looks a bit plain..like adding render textures to certain parts of the scan..for example Remu's (i cant remember her name..i think her name was Remu, that one shinigami) hair...Raito's jacket. But the scan is already pretty detailed, so mebbe it works better with the way you already have it ^-^.
nice job with the render work! I think abstract backgrounds are pretty hard.

Gret use of efects ... Ithe background fits the image perfectly and the colores you used are simply "ideale pt. acest wall". Now, speking from experience, I wouldn't be surpeised if this won't ghet hilighted.
Super wall!
