well here is, was my arete entry. no filters were used, brush work and type downloaded. vectored and drawn in illustrator and texturing and color correction done in photoshop.
in this image i decided to do something totally not amano with an amano scan. since in my own art i don't like having one thing take precedence over another, i did the same with amano's work. the environment is always more important. cheers eh?

I actually really enjoyed this entry because of the quirky colours. I was looking forward to seeing an Arete entry with Amano but not look Amano- and this was the entry that did this very well.

It wasn't hard to guess who created this entry, as only smilebit could really pull off a wallpaper like this one. It's very well-done and is wonderfully energetic and bold; amongst all of the entries submitted for Arete it really stood out. However, as the fearless artist himself noted, it's certainly not Amano, but then again, free expression is perhaps preferable to being shackled to the styles of another.

elses. ^-^ ...You still know that I love your work? 
well I was Judge B, so you already know my opinion on it. Of course I knew that this was your entry. And I also wondered who made the other entries... but it never was as obvious as yours. With this entry I didn't even have to think for a second of who is the person behind it. As I already wrote I couldn't give it the best scores for Arete since it "destroyed the special Amano feeling". I didn't see Amano in this work... I only saw smilebit... the original Amano scan almost disappeared and in my point of view this was not what Arete was about.
PS: Last time you posted in my guestbook I think you accidently made a link to another website... In case you wonder "Regenbogen" means Rainbow.
